Biology Students' KUKERTA Provision by Biology Department Lecturers for the Implementation of KKN Has an Impact

The Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at the University of Riau, held a Community Service Program (KUKERTA) for Biology students as part of their preparation for the Impactful Community Service Program (KKN). The three-day program, from January 7 to 9, 2026, was structured and involved Biology Department lecturers as speakers.
This program integrated and integrated learning from several science-based and applied courses, including Economic Botany, Ethnobotany, Agroecology, Compost Technology, Plant Nutrition, and Ghulma Science. Through this course integration, students were equipped with conceptual understanding and practical skills relevant to the needs of the communities in the KKN locations.
In this program, lecturers provided material that emphasized the utilization of local biological resources, sustainable environmental management, increasing agricultural productivity, and developing village potential based on science and local wisdom. The briefing also aims to strengthen students' abilities in identifying problems in the field and designing community service programs that are solution-oriented, applicable, and have a real impact on the community.
Through this briefing, Biology students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, are expected to be able to directly implement the knowledge gained during their studies within the community, while actively contributing to supporting the Impactful Community Service Program, which aligns with strengthening village development, food security, and environmental conservation.
This KUKERTA briefing activity is a strategic step by the Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, in preparing graduates who not only excel academically but also possess social awareness, adaptive skills, and a commitment to making a real contribution to society and sustainable development.
