Animal Systematics, Plant Systematics, and Phytogeography Field Practicum
The Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, conducted a field practicum for the Animal Systematics, Plant Systematics, and Phytogeography courses on October 17–19, 2025. This activity took place at the Lima Puluh Kota Regency Nature Tourism Area and the Kinantan Zoo in Bukittinggi.
A total of 172 students participated in this activity, under the direct supervision of the course lecturers and junior lecturers of the Biology Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, in 2025.
Through this activity, students are expected to deepen their understanding of biodiversity, organism classification, and the relationship between flora and fauna and environmental conditions in various ecosystem types in West Sumatra.
