Biology Curriculum Workshop, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia: Strengthening Assessment Towards ASIIN Accreditation

Pekanbaru, November 5, 2025 — The Biology Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, held a Curriculum Workshop entitled "Assessing Learning Outcomes: Strategies and Implementation of Curriculum Assessment Towards ASIIN" as a strategic step in strengthening learning outcomes-based assessment and preparing for ASIIN international accreditation.
The event was opened by Prof. Fitmawati, M.Sc., Head of the Biology Department, and Dr. Mayta Novaliza Isda, M.Sc., Vice Dean III of FMIPA UNRI. Both emphasized the importance of aligning the curriculum with Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and improving the quality of learning to meet international standards.



The first session featured Mrs. Rodiyati Azrianingsih, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D. from the Indonesian Biology Consortium (KOBI), who explained the principles of competency-based assessment and the alignment of CPL with the KKNI (National Qualifications Framework), KOBI, and ASIIN Subject-Specific Criteria (SSC).
In the second session, Dr. rer. nat. Delita Zul, M.Si., led a workshop on developing CPL–CPMK assessments based on ASIIN standards. Lecturers actively participated in developing assessment instruments, achievement indicators, and assessment rubrics for their respective courses.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates to the speakers by Dr. Mayta Novaliza Isda, M.Si. The event proceeded smoothly and interactively, resulting in improved lecturers' understanding of developing learning outcomes-based assessments.
Through this activity, the Biology Undergraduate Program at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Riau, reaffirms its commitment to developing an Outcome-Based Education curriculum and enhancing its international competitiveness through preparation for ASIIN accreditation. The program continues to strive to become a center for superior, adaptive biology education and research, contributing significantly to biological resource management and sustainable development.
